A Walk Through AGA with David

View All News

We are delighted to launch this guide to the archive, written by David Lothian and illustrated by Abby Carter!

Join postgraduate researcher David Lothian for a walk through The Alasdair Gray Archive (AGA).

This guide is both a guided tour through the AGA collection, and a ‘neurodivergent reading’ of it. On your walk through AGA see some of Alasdair Gray’s most famous art and prose works alongside some uniquely personal items through a new lens.

This project developed through the research of postgraduate researcher David Lothian, who first engaged with The Alasdair Gray Archive during one of its free public tours. During his visit, David spoke about his developing research interests and exploring creative practice through a neurodivergent lens. This initial conversation led to the development of a collaborative research project exploring how Gray’s archive might be understood in relation to neurodiversity frameworks. David’s perspective offers a valuable and timely contribution to Gray scholarship, opening up new ways of reading the archive that foreground cognition, process, and lived experience alongside artistic production.
