Glasgow Doors Open Day 2025

We are excited to announce that we are taking part in Glasgow Doors Open Day 2025! (@glasgowdodf)

Glasgow is a visionary city and it was Alasdair Gray who first explored, through writing in his seminal novel Lanark (1981), the imaginative potential of what this city could hold.

➡️ Our tour will bring this to life via access to our collection with Custodian @sorchadallasand our new exhibition ‘The City’ devised by our curatorial assistant, @holly.renniebrown.
👨‍👧‍👦 There will be free self-led activities for children/young people as part of the tour exploring Glasgow as a visionary city including an activity sheet and opportunity to help is build a @minecraft ‘Glasgow of the Imagination’

Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival is Scotland’s largest free heritage and community festival. Taking place from 18–21 September, it’s a citywide celebration of Glasgow’s architecture, culture, and heritage. The festival offers Glaswegians and visitors the chance to explore the stories, places, and spaces that have shaped the city through a diverse programme of free open buildings and events.
