Agnes Owens Archive – Open Now!

We are delighted to announce that The Agnes Owens Archive (AOA) is now open.

Housed within The Alasdair Gray Archive (AGA), the AOA is AGA’s first standalone satellite archive—shining a light on the creative world around Gray and restoring Agnes Owens to her rightful place in Scottish literature.

Alasdair Gray once called Owens
“the most unfairly neglected of all living Scottish authors.”

The AOA exists to challenge that neglect and to highlight just how central Owens was to the development of radical, working-class Scottish writing.
