Project
Arran
Placemarker
The Isle of Arran has been the inspiration for many artists with the recent introduction of the Arts Heritage Trail.
This physical trail has been created through the landscape using placemarkers to identify key points of inspiration for artists, which has been supported and expanded online through a website, documenting the unique collection of renowned artists who spent time working on Arran. We collaborated with them in 2021 to create a placemarker to Alasdair at Glen Sannox on the Goatfell path, near the point of inspiration for his painting ‘Bay’. The placemarker was made of red Arran sandstone by Lois Anderson, an exceptional local stone carver.
