This resource is intended for anyone engaged in documenting a real life—whether their own or another person’s. Although many of the examples emphasise text-based storytelling, the principles offered can guide the ethical development of biographies and memoirs in any creative medium. The materials and activities are flexible and can be adapted for use in pairs, small groups, or larger workshop settings. This resource has been co-authored by Sorcha Dallas, Custodian of The Alasdair Gray Archive with Dr. Rodge Glass, Creative Writing at The University of Strathclyde and researcher Lucy Lauder, with support from the Extended Training Allowance scheme as part of The Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities.
