Working Legs, A Play For People Without Them

£5.00

A nearly fatal road accident condemns Able McMann to walk about in a world where the overwhelming majority are comfortable in wheelchairs: he is therefore registered as hypermanic by the Social Welfare Services at a time when government spending on these is being reduced. This play shows the sorrow, love and struggle through which Able at last triumphs over his pitiable condition.

This tragic-comedy was written for Birds of Paradise, a Glasgow-based company that stages plays with physically disabled actors. It is published with financial help from both the Glasgow City and Scottish Arts Councils.
