A Harpy in Cowcaddens in a zine response to The Alasdair Gray Archive in Cowcaddens, Glasgow (visited in January 2026), reimagining the work of Alasdair Gray, the archive space, and the north Glasgow landscape. Words are collaged from text found throughout the archive.
Fir Sow is an illustrator, designer, thing-maker, currently based in Glasgow and Dundee. They’re endlessly inspired by folklore, ecology, archeology and hillwalking. You can find them at a desk, or on a hill with a pair of binoculars and a sketchbook.
This zine was produced as part of Fir's BDes in Illustration at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (2023-2026).
